SENIOR PASTOR
BISHOP DAVID G. POWELL SR.
At a young age, Bishop Powell was inspired to follow Christ. He joined and became a faithful member and served in many areas of Rice Temple, under the leadership of the late Elder (Bishop) Franklin McNeil as youth department president, deacon, usher, and licensed minister. After studying at Alabama State University and going from active military duty to reserve duty, Bishop Powell returned to Rice Temple and felt the leading of the Lord to start a mission, Harvest Apostolic Outreach at the Carter Hill Road YMCA. After a year on a mission at the YMCA, he moved the mission to his front yard. After thirty days, souls were saved and baptized in Jesus' name. The church, Greater Harvest Apostolic Church was established at 3707 Mobile Highway in Montgomery Alabama. The church grew immensely. In November 2007, the church purchased property on Creative Street. Bishop Powell was ordained Bishop in June 2018. He is the proud father of four daughters, one son, two granddaughters, and one grandson.
